New to portraits or simply wanting to explore fresh techniques, this 3 day step by step workshop is right for you. Conducted in a positive, fun and non-judgemental way, you will gain confidence and be enthused by what you can achieve with a little help and encouragement.

Day 1 - discuss your work and ambitions followed by a demonstration showing preparation, drawing techniques and fixing. You will then prepare your canvas and produce a drawing ready for the next stage in the process.

Day 2 - slide show, talk and discussion on portrait techniques followed by a demonstration showing glazing methods. You will then work on your own painting to produce a tonal picture, using glazes, in readiness for colour.

Day 3 - interactive session to explore painting styles followed by a demonstration showing colour mixing and impasto techniques. You will then complete your portrait!
