I would like to introduce our 2010 Painting weekend, held here at Muncaster Castle, in conjunction with the Pennington Hotel in Ravenglass, Cumbria.

The weekend will be hosted by Donald Wilkinson, Donald is a Landscape artist based in Cumbria. His land and seascapes have been exhibited nationally and internationally and are included in many prestigious public and private collections in this country and abroad. The weekend will be held from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th of October 2010.

On Friday you will receive Afternoon Tea on arrival followed by a private illustrated presentation at the Pennington Hotel, with Donald. Dinner will be optional at your own cost, and we recommend booking if you wish to eat at the Hotel.

Saturday will be spent under Donald’s expert tuition in and around Muncaster’s beautiful and historic location, set against the wild backdrop of Scafell and the Eskdale valley, with lunch provided. After a chance to freshen up at the hotel, you will return to Muncaster Castle for a drinks reception in the Great Hall, with a private tour of the Castle, with a member of the Pennington family followed by dinner in this beautiful Castle, a family home to the Pennington’s for 800 years.

On Sunday you will return to the Gardens of Muncaster for your morning workshop. You will have the chance to enjoy a 2 course Sunday lunch or receive a picnic hamper to take away with you. The afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the wonders of Muncaster at leisure or carry on painting, before departing for home.

We are also offering a chance for your non artist partner or friend to attend the weekend with you. They will be able to attend the Saturday evening private Castle tour and Dinner, and enjoy access to Muncaster for the weekend. This can be booked as a residential or non residential package.
