Be inspired to sculpt at the old watermill with its cascading waterfalls, working water wheel and old artefacts.
COURSE CONTENT: This course is designed for the beginner who would like to try sculpture but has never had the opportunity and also for the more practised artist who would like to develop their ideas. You will be working in a variety of materials – clay, plaster, paper pulp, wire, wood cement stone or found materials.
There will be an introductory talk and demonstration. The course starts with drawing, sketching and modelling from stimuli around the area. The idea is to get some starting points so that they can be developed into 3D. Starting with a small sculpture or maquette modelled in clay, a number of variations of the idea are produced and the selected model will then be developed into a small plaster sculpture.
Bring protective clothing and tough gloves.

Arrive Wednesday evening - Welcome & enjoy 3 course dinner with wine.
Thursday and Friday - workshop days inclusive all meals.
Saturday - a day to relax by the pool, finish sculpture or visit the local market and town.(lunch & dinner optional)
Sunday - leave after breakfast.
OR leave after breakfast on Saturday Or extend your holiday, stay longer and visit the historical sites, take a tour of Cognac, take a trip down the charente river, discover the countryside tranquility on our bicycles.
