Melanie teaches mainly in oils and acrylics, having just completed her fourth art instruction book for Collins - due for release in February. Lessons are lively affairs with plenty of adhoc demonstrations and one to one tuition, usually with groups of students of ten or less. Melanie is keen to encourage everyone to paint from life and learn techniques for working on location as well as in the studio.

A regular visitor to art groups around the South East, she offers demonstrations to art groups in oils, acrylics or mixed media.

Away from teaching, Melanie is Chair of the Maritime Art Group, and a keen painter of coastal and marine subjects, particularly in oils.
