I am a qualified Art Teacher with over 27 years experience working with
colleges, community organisations, mental health and privately. This has
included teaching A Level and GCSE Art and Photography, giving lectures on my
work, as well as a range of non-exam courses, workshops and one-to-one
tuition for leisure, self expression and personal development. When teaching,
I aim to encourage the development of skills and confidence in basic drawing,
colour and paint application, following which students are encouraged to
explore and experiment with a wide range of media, materials, methods and
ideas of personal interest. I can teach both traditional and experimental
approaches as classes and workshops. I have a Masters Degree (with
Distinction) in Fine Art. On this Masters Course I studied painting, drawing,
photography and digital film. I have painted in both representational and
abstract styles and have work in public and private collections in the UK,
Europe and the USA. For the past 30 years my own subject matter has been
exploring the mind, the nature of our experience and who we are at the
deepest level. This began by exploring Art Therapy and using art as a vehicle
for self discovery. Initially my paintings were of archetypes, influenced by
Jungian therapy. These gradually became more abstract as I explored inner
energy when studying healing. Recently I have revisited exploring combining
mixed media, paint and photography. I am a versatile tacher, with experience
teaching Drawing, Painting, Digital Photography, and Crafts in traditional
ways or as Personal Development using techniques from Art Therapy and
meditation.I am available to run classes, courses, workshops, seminars,
crits, tutorials and give talks on my work.
